Samsø lies in the middle of the Kattegat and is known for its peaceful island landscape of hills, fields, charming villages and a long, varied coastline. Samsø Hundeskov lets your dog run off-lead under control in the shelter of the woods. It lies centrally on the island, a short distance from most towns. The woods offer shade and plenty of space and are a welcome off-lead spot on an island where many paths otherwise cross open country.

There are several beaches around the island, but mind the rules: on ordinary beaches, dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. No official dog beach is registered on the island, so keep your dog on a lead by the water in the summer months. Out of season, though, the quiet beaches are wonderful for walks.
