Dog parks in and near Otterup

Otterup lies in Nordfyn, a short distance from the Kattegat coast, in an open landscape of fields, hedgerows and small woods. The town has a calm, rural feel with big skies and plenty of room to move.

With both beach and countryside nearby, Otterup is a lovely base for long dog walks.

In and around Otterup you will find several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks within a short drive. Willeruplund Hundeskov and Bavnedam Hundeskov, both fenced, offer woodland and shade, while fenced areas such as Birkeparken give you a safe place to let your dog off the lead.

Several places have agility equipment and there is room for the youngest dogs, so puppies and trained dogs alike can get out and stretch their legs.

Otterup is close to the coast, and the shore to the north invites walks along the water, for example at Hasmark.

Remember that on ordinary beaches dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on official dog beaches may your dog swim and run off-lead all year.
