About Avnø Fritløbsareal

Avnø Fritløbsareal is an open off-leash area (not fenced) where dogs may be walked off-lead. The area borders directly on Flyvervej, 4760 Vordingborg. To the east it is bounded by a canal. It lies just before the police training centre. Dogs must be on a lead in all other areas. Dogs may only be off-lead if they are under full control. There is no fence at the end of the area by the pumping station.

Delvist indhegnet, men fortsat ikke indhegnet ud mod kanal til sluse. Det kan fortsat ikke anbefales at slippe sin hund løs på arealet. Det er alt for farligt. Hundene kan ikke se kanalen, da der er et lille "dige" på en 50 - 70 cm - herefter går det omkring 5 m ned i kanalen lige ved slusen. Der er dyrehegn på 3 sider, med meget store masker. Hunde på under 15kg kan komme igennem. Affaldsspand til hundeposer mangler. Jeg giver fortsat 0 stjerner til området, men når (og hvis) det bliver helt indhegnet, samt får et lidt tættere hegn i bunden, så hæver jeg til 4 stjerner. God beliggenhed. Området kan overskues. Tæt på naturområde, så man kan enten starte eller slutte med at lufte frit. Der er mulighed for vand på Naturcenteret, hvor der også er toilet, samt borde og bænke.

Uindhegnet smalt (ca 20 - 25 m bredt) græsbælte. På den ene side rimelig befærdet asfaltvej til naturområde Aunø og kursuscenter, til den anden side MEGET dyb (2 - 4 m)grøft, med MEGET stejle kanter. Området er absolut ikke egnet til løse hunde. Grøften kan ikke umidelbart ses i hundehøjde pga højt græs. Leg eller evt at hunden sætter efter en hare (meget vildt i området), kan give katastrofale følger.
