Dog parks in and near Herfølge

Herfølge lies just south of Køge in south-east Zealand, close to both Køge Bugt and the rolling landscape towards Stevns and Faxe. Around the town there are fields, smaller woods and shelterbelts, and the coast to the east is close by. That gives plenty of variety on your dog walks, whether you are after woodland or beach.

In and around Herfølge there is a handful of dog parks spread out towards Køge, Faxe and Stevns. Several are proper woodland dog parks with trees and shade, while others are more open, and a private dog park (for hire) gives a safe, fenced place to play. Head for example to the fenced Dalby Hundeskov or Boholte Hundelufergård when your dog needs a good stretch.

With Køge Bugt so close, the beach is easy to include on a walk from Herfølge. Note that on ordinary beaches dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under full control. Only on an official dog beach may your dog swim and run off-lead all year, so check the signs before the lead comes off.
