Dog parks in and near Solrød Strand

Solrød Strand lies on Køge Bugt (the bay) south of Copenhagen, with both coastline and a green hinterland of woods and meadows. The town may have the sea in its name, but the woods to the west are just as close. That gives dog owners a fine mix of sea air and woodland walks.

In and around Solrød Strand you will find several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks within reach. Karlstrup Skov and Tune Skov offer forest and shade for off-lead runs, while fenced places such as Karlslunde fritløbsområde and Alldoggy hundeskov provide safe surroundings for play and training. The large nature and gravel pit area Hedeland is also close by, with vast open spaces.

Køge Bugt is not far away, and a walk along the beach is part of life here. On ordinary beaches, however, your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on an official dog beach are swimming and running off-lead allowed all year.

That is why the woods and Hedeland are often used when your dog needs to run free in summer.
