Dog parks in and near Ishøj

Ishøj lies on Køge Bugt (the bay) south of Copenhagen, where the large Ishøj Strandpark and the green wedge meet the water. The town combines nature close to town with coast and open meadows, and beach, park and woodland are all close by. That gives dog owners a varied choice of walking spots near home.

In and around Ishøj you will find several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks. Kongelunden Hundeskov and Greve Skov offer woodland with shade and good paths, while Hundeengen ved Vallensbæk Strandpark is a fenced dog park right by the coast where your dog can run off-lead. Several places give room for both active play and calm walks in green surroundings.

Køge Bugt and Ishøj Strandpark invite you to walk along the water, but remember the lead rules on ordinary beaches: on a lead from 1 April to 30 September, and off-lead only from 1 October to 31 March - always under control.

If you want your dog to swim and run off-lead all year, you need to find an official dog beach where this is allowed. The paths of Ishøj Strandpark and the nearby woods are a good alternative the rest of the year.
