Dog parks in and near Rødovre

Rødovre lies west of Copenhagen (København), with Vestskoven and Damhusengen as large green breathing spaces right on the doorstep. Despite its urban location, there is quick access to forest, meadow and coast. That gives surprisingly good options for varied dog walks in the middle of the capital area.

In and around Rødovre, this page brings together woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks within reach of the town. Vestskoven ved Ejby and Damhusengen offer forest, open meadows and long paths, while fenced places such as Kongsholmparken give you a safe spot to let your dog off the lead. Several places have agility equipment, and the selection includes both urban dog playgrounds and larger woodland areas.

To the east, the radius reaches all the way to Øresund and the coast of Amager, where there are beaches and an official dog beach with swimming and off-lead running all year round. On ordinary beaches, dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control.
