Dog parks in Hvidovre Municipality (Hvidovre Kommune)

Hvidovre Municipality lies right next to Copenhagen, with Kalveboderne and Køge Bugt forming a blue edge to the south and west. It is a densely built suburban municipality, but between the residential areas run green corridors with parks, bogs and small woods along Harrestrup Å.

The combination of coast and nature close to town makes it easy to walk your dog, wherever in the municipality you live.

There are several places to walk close to town, and a couple of them are fenced, so puppies and dogs practising recall can run safely. Østskoven by Bakkeskoven offers woodland and shade in the western part of the municipality, while Vigerslevparken has a green dog area along the stream.

The places are spread across the town, so there is usually a dog park or a green space within walking distance.

To the south the municipality opens onto the water at Kalveboderne, where the coastal meadows are lovely to walk along. Mind the rules: on ordinary beaches your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under full control.

Only on an official dog beach may your dog swim and run off-lead all year round, so keep your dog on a lead by the water in the summer months.

The dog parks in Hvidovre Kommune are in postcodes 2605 Brøndby and 2650 Hvidovre.
