Dog parks in and near Køge

Køge lies at the head of Køge Bugt in South Zealand, where town, harbour and salt meadows meet a hinterland of woods and river valleys. Its central location makes it easy to switch between walks close to town and real woodland.

In and around Køge there are several dog parks within a short drive. Karlstrup Skov by Karlstrup Kalkgrav offers hilly terrain, a lake and forest floor, while Hundeskoven i Benløseskoven gives room for speed and play. Several of the places are fenced, and there is both agility and quieter pens where puppies can find their feet.

Køge Bugt stretches along the town, but on the ordinary beach your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on an official dog beach may your dog swim and run off-lead all year, so keep an eye on the signs. Outside the summer, the wide beach on the bay is a lovely setting for long walks.
