Karise Hundeskov

In the northern part of the newly planted wood in Karise there is a permanently fenced dog park. The dog park itself covers 1.2 hectares, just under two large football pitches. It lies towards Dalbyvej as part of a larger wooded area between the railway and the housing area at Karl af Rises Vej, along the railway path. The wood, and with it the dog park, was planted in spring 2021 as protected forest (fredsskov), and the planting is a varied mix of deciduous and evergreen trees and shrubs, giving variety in colour and character all year round. While the rest of the new woodland was temporarily fenced for the first few years to protect the plants from wildlife, the fence around the dog park itself is permanent. The dog park was mainly created for local residents. As it has not been possible to provide parking along Dalbyvej, there is no direct access by car, so visitors have to arrive on foot.
