Aaby Skoven (Aabybro Hundeskov)

Aabybro Hundeskov in Aaby Skoven covers about 5 hectares, most of it newly planted beech and oak along with grain and wild oxeye daisies. On the left there is a small patch of woodland with lots of wild raspberries. A path runs through the forest to an exit gate, and if you go out here you can follow a path up to a pleasant little spot with benches, tables, a fire pit and a viewing hill. From Aalborg on the motorway, take the exit for Vestbjerg. At the roundabout, take the exit towards Åbybro. At the next roundabout go straight over and continue straight ahead along Bakmøllevej through Nørhalne and Biersted. After Biersted the road becomes Kattedamsvej. Carry straight on, and about 2 km before Åbybro there is a large grey farm with a black roof on your left. Directly opposite it, turn right onto Øster Hovensvej. About 50 metres further on, Schæferhundeklubben (the German Shepherd club) is on your left, and directly opposite on the right there is a green sign saying Åby Skovvej. Here you will find a large car park and a sign to the dog park.
