Dog parks in and near Hjallerup

Hjallerup lies in central Vendsyssel between Aalborg and Dronninglund, in a landscape of woods, hills and open fields. From the town, Dronninglund Storskov and the rest of North Jutland's nature are close at hand, and the area has a calm, rural feel. That gives you good options for long, varied dog walks.

In and around Hjallerup you will find several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks spread out towards Dronninglund, Aalborg and the coast. There are dog parks near woodland with shade and networks of paths, such as Sømosen in Dronninglund Storskov, as well as quieter areas inland. Head, for example, to the fenced Asaa Hundeskov or to Klarup Hundeskov when your dog needs room to run free.

Within reach is the Kattegat coast at Asaa, where a beach walk is easy to fit in. Remember that on ordinary beaches dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on an official dog beach may your dog swim and run off-lead all year round, so always follow the signs.
