Dog parks in Vendsyssel

Vendsyssel is the northernmost part of Denmark and offers magnificent nature with heather-covered heathland, plantations, hills and coasts facing both Skagerrak and Kattegat. The landscape alternates between open expanses, quiet woodland and the distinctive light the area is so famous for. That makes Vendsyssel a lovely place for long dog walks all year round.

In Vendsyssel you will find a good mix of woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks with space and nature, and a few places have a puppy area for the youngest dogs. Sæby Hundeskov (fenced) and Tversted plantage hundeskov are among the popular dog parks, and at Hjørring Bjerge you can exercise your dog in an open grassy dog park. Several of the places offer plenty of opportunity to stretch your legs in the fresh air.

Vendsyssel has long stretches of coast, but there is no official dog beach in the region. On ordinary beaches, dogs must therefore be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. If you want to let your dog swim freely in summer, head for an official dog beach.
