Dog parks in and near Frederikshavn

Frederikshavn lies on the Kattegat in north-eastern Vendsyssel, where coast, dune plantations and broadleaf woods shape the landscape. With the sea to the east and woods inland, big nature is close by, and the town is a good base for dog walks on both beach and woodland.

In and around Frederikshavn you will find several woodland dog areas and fenced dog parks with a woodland floor, shade and plenty of room. Frederikshavn Hundeskov (fenced) and Bannerslund Hundeskov near Strandby are among the places where your dog can walk under the trees, and further out lies Sæby Hundeskov (fenced), among others. Several of the woods have open stretches that give room to move freely.

Frederikshavn is a coastal town, and the Kattegat beaches are just outside town. On ordinary beaches your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control - only on official dog beaches may it swim and run off-lead all year round.

Outside the bathing season there is plenty of room for long walks along the water.
