Sjøstrup Hundeskov v. Aars

Sjøstrup Hundeskov near Aars is a small, hilly grove with a fence, where your dog can run off-lead. At the entrance there is a small memorial stone marking an old ford at the former road into Aars. The dog park covers 1.8 hectares, about two and a half football pitches. The ground is on several levels, and there is a small pond where your dog can have a drink or stand in the water, plus a view of a stream. There are tables and benches and a bin. There is no tap, so do bring water. A public toilet is about 250 m away. A major road runs alongside the wood, so there is some traffic noise. The dog park is a good place to stretch your legs if you are driving through Himmerland. Entry is free, the dog park is open all year, and it is run by Vesthimmerland Municipality.
