About Juelstrup Sø Hundeskov (Himmelhunden)
Between the restored Juelstrup Sø and the E45 motorway, Naturstyrelsen (the Danish Nature Agency) has planted a new dog park, where part of the wood is planted in the outline of a dog resembling the pictogram that marks the entrance to Naturstyrelsen's 167 dog parks. The dog, also known as "Himmelhunden", is 10,000 times larger than the small signs marking the entrance to dog parks on Naturstyrelsen's red posts. The dog park covers an area of 10 hectares, with both large and small clearings and a path network of a full 5 km inside the dog park itself. It has both deciduous and coniferous trees, as well as smaller areas of birch and cherry and flowering, fruit-bearing woodland edges. The dog park is part of the restoration of Juelstrup Sø, which is coming back to life after being drained away in the 1920s. It is 300-400 metres from the car park to where you can let your dog off the lead. The first part of the walk is on a cycle path, the last part on a bridle path.

Fantastisk Hundeskov :-) Sådan finder du hundeskoven kør af ved Støvring syd ,så mod Nibe ,Første rundkørsel af ved første vej det er Hjedsbækvej så kør lige ud til der står Parkering , på venstre hånd parkerede du ved Juelstrup sø ,Når du har parkeret så gå op til Hjedsbækvej en igen gå til venstre ca 100 meter du kan se et grønt kommunalt el skur der drejer du venstre om og følger stien op der grusvej så ca 150meter fremme man kan kommer den fantastiske Hundeskov :-) alle hunde ejere burde se den den er flot

Jeg ville ønske der var sat skilte op, om hvordan man kommer til jeres hundeskov, vi ville en tur omkring i går for at se og opleve den for hundes skyld, men vi måtte opgive, kørte rundt i området men det var umuligt at finde ind hvor hundeskoven var. Det eneste vi fandt var Juelstrup sø, men der var der ingen indhegnet hundeskov? søgte ligeledes Krak på vore smartphone men blev desværre ikke klogere af det :-(

05-11-13: Efter stormen forrige mandag har en del store træer lagt sig over hegnet, nær P-pladsen, men ellers er hegnet intakt.
