Dog parks in Vesterbro

Vesterbro lies west of Indre By, with Frederiksberg to the north-west, Valby to the west and Sydhavn to the south. It is a dense district with many squares and courtyards, so dog walking mostly takes place in the small fenced dog areas close to home.

In Vesterbro you will find three fenced dog parks and fenced dog areas. The fenced dog area at Enghave Plads is the largest, with benches and room to meet other dogs. At Otto Krabbes Plads there is a small fenced dog area with agility, and in Saxoparken you will find a small fenced dog area.

All three are best suited to a short everyday walk.

If your dog needs a proper dog wood, Østskoven ved Bakkeskoven lies to the west and Kongelunden Hundeskov on Amager to the south. Closer by, there is plenty of room in Søndermarken in Frederiksberg and at Sydhavnstippen.

On the official dog beaches, such as the off-leash area (not fenced) at Amager Strand, your dog may swim and run off-lead all year under control, while on ordinary beaches it must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March.
