Dog parks in Valby

Valby is in south-west Copenhagen, with Vanløse to the north, Frederiksberg and Vesterbro to the east and Sydhavn to the south-east. Vigerslevparken runs as a four-kilometre green belt through the district from Damhussøen down to Valbyparken, which makes Valby a good district for walks with your dog.

In Valby you will find five dog parks, fenced dog areas and off-leash areas. In the northern part of Vigerslevparken there is a fenced off-leash area with agility and benches, and further south there is an off-leash area that is not fenced but has a water post.

In Valbyparken by the allotment gardens there is another off-leash area (not fenced), and on Steins Plads and by Trekonergade there are small fenced dog areas for a quick walk in the neighbourhood.

If your dog needs a proper woodland dog park, Østskoven ved Bakkeskoven and Vestskoven ved Oxbjerget to the west are not far away.

On the official dog beaches, such as the off-leash area (not fenced) at Amager Strand, your dog may swim and run free all year under control, while on ordinary beaches it must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March.
