Dog parks in Østerbro

Østerbro lies north of Indre By and stretches out to the Øresund in the east. To the west the district borders Nørrebro and Bispebjerg, and to the north the city continues into Hellerup. With Fælledparken, Kildevældsparken and the coast, Østerbro is one of the greenest districts to have a dog in.

Østerbro has four dog parks, fenced dog areas and off-leash areas. Trianglen store hundegård i Fælledparken is one of the city's most visited fenced dog areas, with a water point and benches, and at the other end of Fælledparken there is a smaller fenced dog area, also with a water point.

In Kildevældsparken you will find a small fenced dog area for a short walk, and out on the coast at Svanemøllen is Scherfigsvej Fritløbsområde, an off-leash area.

There are no actual woodland dog parks in Østerbro, but the nearest, Ermelunden Hundeskov i Jægersborg Dyrehave, is just over ten kilometres to the north.

On the official dog beaches, such as the off-leash area (not fenced) at Amager Strand, your dog may swim and run off-lead all year round under control, while on ordinary beaches it must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March.
