Dog parks in Sydhavn

Sydhavn lies south of Vesterbro along the harbour, with Valby to the west and Amager across the water to the east. The area ranges from the old blocks of flats around Mozarts Plads to the new neighbourhoods on Sluseholmen and Teglholmen, and to the south Sydhavnstippen and Valbyparken open up with plenty of nature.

In Sydhavn you will find five dog parks, fenced dog areas and off-leash areas. Sydhavnstippen hundegård is a fenced off-leash area of just under one hectare on the edge of the protected nature area, and by Haveforeningen Musikbyen in Valbyparken there is an off-leash area (not fenced) of almost the same size.

The dog area at Sjælør Boulevard is fenced and has both agility and a water post, and on Sluseholmen and in the northern part of the neighbourhood there are two small fenced dog areas for a quick outing.

If your dog needs a proper woodland dog park, Østskoven ved Bakkeskoven lies to the west and Kongelunden Hundeskov on Amager to the south-east.

On the official dog beaches, such as the off-leash area (not fenced) at Amager Strand, your dog may swim and run free all year under control, while on ordinary beaches it must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March.
