Dog parks on Amager

Amager is an island on the edge of the city, close to Copenhagen (København), where city and nature meet within a few kilometres. Here you'll find wide salt meadows and commons such as Amager Fælled and Kalvebod Fælled, where grassland, bogs and low woodland create a surprisingly wild landscape just outside the city. That makes Amager an obvious choice for both daily walks and longer nature walks with your dog.

Amager has a large choice of dog parks, from Kongelunden Hundeskov in the south to several fenced dog play areas in Ørestad and on Christianshavns Vold. Some have agility equipment and special puppy areas, so even the smallest and most active dogs can romp about safely. With so many options, you'll quickly find a dog park that suits your mood and energy that day.

At Amager Strandpark there are designated dog beaches where your dog may swim and run off-lead all year round. On the other, ordinary beaches your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. That leaves room for both swimmers and happy dogs by Øresund.
