Dog parks in and near Aakirkeby

Aakirkeby lies in the middle of Bornholm, a short distance from the island's large woodland area Almindingen and the beaches of the south coast. The town is surrounded by rocky landscape, rift valleys and woodland, which make for very special terrain to walk in. There are wide skies here and lots of room for active dogs.

In and around Aakirkeby there are several woodland dog areas and dog parks, where your dog can burn off energy on the woodland floor and in Bornholm's nature. Hareløkkerne i Almindingen, which is fenced, is a large woodland area with good paths, and Blykobbe Plantage near Rønne offers shade and shelter among the trees.

The areas are shaped by woodland and nature rather than fenced enclosures, so there is plenty of space here.

From Aakirkeby it is a short way to Bornholm's south coast, where your dog can come along to the beach. On ordinary beaches your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run free from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. If you want to give your dog free play and swimming all year, you need to find an official dog beach.
