Kannikegård hundehegn

Kannikegård Hundehegn is a peaceful, fenced off-leash area in the scenic surroundings of Kannikegård Skov, close to Aakirkeby on Bornholm. The dog park covers 1.2 hectares (12,000 m²), giving plenty of room for both play and exercise, as it is roughly just under two ordinary football pitches. If you come by car, there is parking just behind Kannikegård itself. From here it is easy to make your way into the area. The dog park is run by Bornholm Regional Municipality and is a lovely local breathing space. The area is securely fenced, and the woodland offers a good mix of trees and classic forest floor, creating an interesting, natural sniffing environment for four-legged friends to explore off-lead. Although the fence sets the physical limits, the municipality's standing rules for off-leash areas still apply: as the owner, you must have full control of your dog and be able to call it back at any time. All visitors are also expected to be considerate of each other and always pick up after their dogs to keep nature clean and tidy. Once you have enjoyed your time and burnt off energy safely inside the fence and move on into the rest of the woodland, your dog must always be on a lead out of consideration for the wildlife and other visitors.
