Enghaven

Enghaven is a private, fenced dog park (for hire) of two hectares on Gammelbyvej between Jelling and Givskud in South Jutland (Sydjylland). The area belongs to the dog centre Enghave & Hund and is hired out, so you and your dog have the place to yourselves while you are there. The ground is grass, with trees, bushes and paths through the area. The owner describes it as full of exciting corners and nooks for new discoveries, and that is exactly the difference from an open field: there is something to explore along the way, and the trees give shade when the sun is high. The fence is 140 cm high, and there are two double gates, so your dog cannot slip out while you let yourselves in. Besides the large running and training area, there are smaller fenced pens that can be used when two dogs meet for the first time. There is also a puppy area for the youngest and agility equipment for those who want to train. For the two-legged visitors there are picnic table sets, a fire pit and a rubbish bin. It costs DKK 50 per visit, and it is open around the clock. Parking is at the site, with room for about 20 cars. There is no water post, water bowl or toilet on site, so bring water for your dog. You also need to bring your own bags. You will find Enghaven at Gammelbyvej 70, 7300 Jelling, about two kilometres north-east of Givskud. It is about 12 km to Vejle, 13 km to Give and a quarter of an hour's drive from Billund, so the place is within reach from most of Trekantområdet (the Triangle Region).
