Vejle Municipality is in East Jutland at the head of Vejle Fjord, where steep river valleys, wooded hills and the fjord's water meet in one of Denmark's most dramatic landscapes. Grejsdalen and Munkebjerg are among Denmark's hills, and historic Jelling lies in the middle of the municipality. The hilly terrain and many woods give beautiful, varied walks with your dog.

Sønderskoven and Nørreskoven i Vejle offer woodland and shade close to town, while Frederikshåb Plantage and Engelsholm Skov offer wide open nature, and at Mølholm Ådal your dog can run in the green. Several places have agility equipment and puppy-friendly conditions, so every dog can get out and about.

Vejle lies on the fjord, and the coast is close for a walk by the water. On ordinary beaches your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, always under control. Only on official dog beaches may your dog swim and run off-lead all year, so check the signs along the fjord.
