Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality stretches from hilly southern Funen down to Det Sydfynske Øhav (the South Funen Archipelago), and the landscape alternates between broadleaf woods, river valleys and the typical South Funen hills. Around Ringe and Nørre Lyndelse there are quiet woodland areas, while the coast at Faaborg opens out towards the archipelago. It is a calm, green place to walk your dog all year round.

The municipality has several dog parks spread around its towns, often with a good woodland floor and shade under the trees. Sollerup Hundeskov and Espe Skov ved Ringe, both fenced, are among the well-known places, and Nr. Broby Hundepark offers a fenced alternative where your dog can be let off-lead. Several of the woods are also well suited to puppies and nervous dogs.

With the coast facing Det Sydfynske Øhav, you can also walk along the water. Remember the rules on ordinary beaches, though: your dog must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September and may only run off-lead from 1 October to 31 March, and always under control. If you want your dog to swim and run off-lead all year, you need to find an official dog beach.
