Reizelskoven Hundeskov

Reizelskoven is a small municipal wood in Nyborg that Nyborg Municipality has designated as a dog park. Here your dog may be off-lead all year, as long as it is under control and does not bother others. The dog park in Reizelskoven is not fenced. The wood was once part of Christianslund Skoven but was separated from it when the Funen motorway was built in the early 1950s. Reizelskoven Hundeskov covers 3.8 hectares, about 5 large football pitches. If you come by car, you can park at the end of Helsekrogen, but there is only room for a couple of cars. It is a broadleaf wood dominated by beech, mixed with oak, ash, sycamore, field maple and alder, among others, and along the way you can also find larch, silver fir, Douglas fir and red oak. The woods here are close to the motorway and busy roads, so there may be traffic noise, and it is wise to call your dog to you near the roads. For a longer walk, Christianslund Skoven and Borgmesterskoven are also dog parks, and in Christianslund you can walk all the way down to the Great Belt (Storebælt). On the beach, dogs must be on a lead from 1 April to 30 September.
