Skrillinge Hundeskov

Skrillinge Hundeskov is a fully fenced off-lead area on the eastern edge of Middelfart. It is part of the newer community woodland Skrillingeskoven, planted by Middelfart Municipality to create nature close to town and protect local groundwater. The dog park covers a manageable 1 hectare exactly, or 10,000 m². To put that in perspective, it is about the size of 1.4 international football pitches. The fenced area lies in young woodland with a good balance of denser vegetation, where dogs can explore exciting scent trails, and open spaces that invite free play and socialising. Mown grass paths run through the area so owners can easily walk along. As the ground is natural terrain, it can get soft and heavy in the wet winter months. Facilities include sturdy self-closing gates, bins at the entrance and picnic table sets free for everyone to use. If you arrive by car, note that there is no access or parking from the main road (Skrillingevej), where there is only a separate cycle path. Parking on the verge here is neither allowed nor safe. By far the best and most convenient parking is instead at the very end of Værkstedsvej. Park there and follow the path for the last very short stretch straight to the dog park entrance. If you want a longer walk, your dog is also welcome in the rest of Skrillingeskoven, as long as it is on a lead there.
