You will find Lolas Lund dog park in Hedvigslundskoven south of Odins Bro in Odense. The off-lead area covers about 3 hectares and is safely surrounded by a sturdy deer fence 150 centimetres high. To make access as flexible and safe as possible, no fewer than four self-closing gates have been put in around the fence. The dog park itself offers lovely varied terrain with plenty of room for both active play and focused sniffing. Dogs can explore the older, established woodland, wander through areas of lower new planting or really stretch their legs on the large open grass area. In practical terms the place is also very well equipped: there is direct access to fresh water for thirsty dogs, and there are tables and benches where you can take a well-earned rest. If you come by car, you can park in the car park on Tromsøgade close to the area, or you can use the parking at the nearby Marienlystcenter, which is also an obvious starting point for your walk. What really makes Lolas Lund unique is the story of how it came about. This off-lead area was shaped by a wholehearted passion for man's best friend. A local dog owner showed truly extraordinary love by leaving DKK 350,000 in their will, earmarked directly for setting it up. This moving and extremely generous donation was crucial in giving the dogs of Odense such a fantastic, safe and dedicated place to romp around in today.
